Earlier at Ares, he originated power and energy acquisitions across renewables, conventional, and midstream. He began his career in Barclays' Global Power and Utilities Group and holds a B.A. from Harvard.

Kimya Massey is the University of San Diego's Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Athletics, appointed in February 2024. He brings 26 years in intercollegiate athletics, including nine at Oregon State University as Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer, plus leadership roles at UCF, Michigan State, and Indiana. A former four-year letterman pitcher at Michigan State, he holds undergraduate and master's degrees from the university.

He sits on the Ares Operating Committee and three investment committees. He joined Ares in 2001 from Walker Digital, and previously Morgan Stanley.

He also teaches "From Invention to Patient" at San Diego State and holds a JD from the University of San Diego.

Dick brings 25+ years in wealth advisory, specializing in alternatives. He founded AlphaCore in 2015 and serves as CEO and Investment Committee managing member. Previously a partner at Altegris, sold to a Fortune 500 company in 2010, he began as a floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and ran Dean Witter Reynolds' Global Trade Desk. He is part of the inaugural CAIA class.

Earlier, he served as an economist for the British government, several think tanks, and the United Nations in New York.
